“Oh Alexandra, you are….” I stop before I answer because there are so many beautiful adjectives that I want to use to describe Alexandra but instead I settle on the one she settled on… “Nice.”

“Hmm, nice, huh? I’ll take it.”

“Thursday, seven-thirty, The Mansfield.” The next few days will be torture, but at least she called. “Good-Bye Alexandra.”

I step down into the bar and immediately my eyes narrow in on her. She sees me and smiles. As I walk towards her, she stands to greet me. She looks sexy. She is wearing a silky sleeveless black jumpsuit with high heels. Her hair hangs in long waves past her shoulders, and her eyes are bright. It is good to see her.

As I near her, she opens her arms to hug me. I wrap my arms around her and pull her into me. Her honey scent permeates my senses and I stiffen.

“Would you like a drink first, or would you like to go up to my room?” She asks.

“Wow, you don’t waste any time.” She shocks me with her question but surprisingly, I’m not turned off. There is something different about Alexandra. She’s not a girl that sleeps around. It seems more about her being unsure of herself, somewhat awkward.

“I’m sorry that came out all wrong. I mean I could feel…I mean, well, I don’t know what I'm saying.” She looks down as she stumbles on her words and then she pulls herself together and looks at me. “What I'm trying to tell you is I had a beautiful night with you, and I’d like to do it again.”

I’m left speechless. Alexandra is so out of her element that all I want to do is make this easy on her and not make her feel any more awkward then she must feel already. I reach for her hand and turn to walk towards the hotel lobby. “What floor are you on?”

She answers me by handing her room keycard to me. I walk her into the empty open elevator, I push the button, and as the door closes, I turn to face her and cover her lips with mine. I press my erection into her while pushing her up against the wall of the elevator. We only stop devouring each other when the ‘bing’ announces our arrival on her floor.

The room is small, attractive, but small. The furniture is modern. It has to be, nothing but clean lined furniture could fit in this space. The door to the bathroom is only a few feet away from the foot of the bed. The accordion style door to the closet is open, and I notice a dress hanging from the rod. Alexandra sits on the only chair in the room taking off her heels.

“Alexandra, I never asked what you do for a living.”

  “No?”

“No. Will you tell me what you do for a living?” I ask but already know getting an answer from her will not be easy.

  She hesitates. “I’m in sales.”

“Can you be more specific?” I ask her.

“No. Not tonight.” Alexandra stands and turns her back towards me. She gathers her hair and moves it over her shoulder. I unzip her outfit and let my hand slide over her newly exposed skin. Her skin is soft and warm. I am hard, more so now than before, but I try and divert my attention. “Alexandra, do you have any interest in what I do for a living?”

“I haven’t thought about it.” She responds sweetly.

“So you’re not going to ask me, are you?” I ask.

  “Not yet.”

She steps out of her jumpsuit and stands in front of me wearing only her bra and panties.

“Nick, would you like to shower first?”

“Shower first. Okay.” Not sure what to make of this girl but I like it.

I shuck my suit jacket, and Alexandra hangs it in the closet next to her dress followed by my shirt and pants. She steps into the bathroom, and I follow behind her. She slides the shower door open and reaches in and turns on the water. It takes only seconds, and the glass steams up. I step in and under the hot water. I close my eyes and tilt my head back enjoying the feel of the water as it streams down my face. I open my eyes as Alexandra traces her finger along my skin mimicking the flow of water. I rest my hands on her hips and step around her as I move her under the water. She closes her eyes and tilts her head back letting the water saturate her long hair. She opens her eyes, and with her lips closed, she smiles at me. The small space that we occupy smells of her as the steam distills her scent.

She moves her hands over my shoulders and up my neck. I move closer to her, so both our bodies are under the water. I move the chunky strand of wet hair that crosses her neck and place my mouth in its place. Her fingers gently pull through my hair, and I hear soft purrs coming from her as I kiss the wet hot skin of her neck.

I drink the water that runs down over her breasts, and I suck on her hardened nipples as the water finds their peaks. I jolt when I have one of the strangest thoughts I have ever had while being intimate with a woman, a vision of me with Alexandra. Alexandra is holding a baby…breast- feeding. This thought stops me in my tracks, and I move away from Alexandra abruptly.

“It looks like you saw a ghost.” She says.

I don’t answer right away because I don’t know what the hell I just saw. All I know is that the thought of a baby that is breastfeeding is not what I expected to envision. Not an idea I’ll be sharing with Alexandra. She would think I was a freak and run scared. I think I’m a freak. I push the thought from my mind and get my footing.

“I’m okay. I just want to look at you.” I brush her cheek with my fingers. “You are beautiful.”

A barely noticeable smile appears on her face. I turn her to face the sidewall of the shower and stand behind her kissing the back of her neck to her shoulders. My hands travel down to her perfectly heart shaped ass and linger long enough to feel all her curves.

As I press my erection into her, I move my hand around her waist and down over the skin of her stomach then I find my way between her legs. I press my lips into her ear and whisper. “I’m going to make you come.” I can hear the need in my voice. Alexandra makes a small noise in agreement and braces herself.

“Place your palms flat on the tile wall above your head,” I tell her. “And don’t move them until I tell you.”

  Alexandra does as I say.

“Alexandra, do you know how sexy you are? I want to explore every part of you with my mouth.” Alexandra lets out a soft pleasurable moan.

With my other hand, I cup her breast gently playing with her nipple while I rhythmically circle her clit. Her hands press firmly into the tile wall as her head drops back against my chest.

“I’m going to...” Before Alexandra finishes, her body let’s go completely and with the palm of her hands still flush against the wall she drops back leaning into me for support.

I grab her by the wrists and turn her around using my hand to handcuff them above her head. We kiss each other greedily. I grab my cock to position it between her legs. She lifts her leg and wraps it around mine giving me room to enter her. She is warm and silky wet, and she takes my cock milking it the entire way. I have never felt anything this good and I know I’m not going to last.

  “Alexandra, what about a condom?”

“I’m on the pill, and I’m good in every other way. You?”

“I am too. I’ve never gone in without a jacket. You’ll be the first.” I want to come inside of her, mark my territory. I wanted to the first night we were together. I want no one else to have her, again.

I pound into her hard, and she braces her body absorbing the intensity of each thrust, the sound of water and skin slapping fills the space while we grip tightly to each other. As the intensity builds, I lean my head back as Alexandra curls into my chest. I feel her whole body shudder as her orgasm takes over and that is my undoing.

I empty myself inside her as I hear myself calling out her name. The want, the need I hear in myself as I say her name unravels me. I never want this to end.

  Chapter 5

  Alexandra

I’m sweating. I feel my hair plastered to my neck. I open my eyes and stare up at the ceiling. Lying next to me with an arm draped across my stomach is an unfamiliar body. I forgot about Nick. He made me orgasm so many time
s last night I think I slipped into a comatose state and forgot where I was. I reposition myself avoiding waking Nick but as soon as I lift his arm, he stirs and moans.

“What time is it?” His voice sounds rough from sleep.

“I was just going to check.” I start to move from underneath him.

“Wait, don’t move. I have my phone on the nightstand.” He says as he turns to check his cell. “3:25.”

“Oh, I have a few more hours.” I hoped it was closer to five so I could have an excuse to get up and leave. I could tell him I need to be at the office early, but he’ll never believe that excuse at 3:25.

“Me too. Do you want to try and sleep, or would you like to talk for a little while?” Nick asks.

“Talk? Is that code for sex?” I ask because I really don’t know.

Nick laughs as he turns on his back and scrubs his face with both his hands. “Alexandra, are you not telling me something?”

  “What?” I ask.

“Do you have some problem? Like the need to have sex and nothing else? Like a sex addict or something?” He asks and He sounds completely serious.

I jump up and swing my legs off the side of the bed. I look back; he is lying on his side propped up on one elbow. “That is so rude! You think I’m screwed up, a sex addict. I’m not a sex addict. I’ll have you know I haven’t had sex in years. And not because I’m in some treatment for sex addiction but because the opportunity just hasn’t presented itself.”

I stand up and storm into the bathroom, which takes me all of four steps, but boy, they are angry steps. I slam the door but it sounds like a loud thump, because unfortunately something is wrong with the bathroom door, so it won’t close all the way. Probably the steam from our long shower earlier warped the wood.

I stand in the bathroom unsure of what I should do. It’s too early to walk the streets of New York, and too early to go into work. I don't even know if the building is open at this time. I can’t stay here. I’m embarrassed. What was I thinking? I knew I couldn’t be this kind of girl. One-night stands aren’t for me.

“Alexandra, may I come in?” Nick’s eye and nose peer into the crack between the door and the doorjamb.

I can’t help but smile. “No, I’ll come out.” I do the short walk of shame to the bed. Nick sits down and pats his hand on the space next to him.

“Alexandra, I’m sorry honey, I didn’t mean to offend you,” Nick says sweetly.

“I’m not offended, I’m embarrassed.” I look down at my lap because I find I can’t make eye contact with him yet.

  “Embarrassed? Why?” He asks.

“I thought I could be this girl, a girl who has sex with a guy and nothing else. I can’t. I’m awful at it. I should have stayed in my little world, my little sexless world.”

“Alexandra, I wouldn’t say you’re awful at it; you are pretty spectacular. Sex that is, but not the one-night thing. That, you are awful at, awkward is the word I would use to describe you. You’re the kind of girl that should be in a relationship with a man who loves you. You should have dinner first, talk about your day, and then have sex.”

Nick gently rubs my back while I try and move past the awkward description.

“Unfortunately, Nick, I’m not good at that either.” I think about my failed relationships.

“You just haven’t met the right person.” He counters.

I finally look at him and give my best fake smile. I want to drop the whole subject. Pretend it never happened. Once again, I fail miserably at this whole sex, men, relationship thing. Me with the opposite sex equals tragedy. “Could we just lie here for a couple more hours? I’m feeling sleepy, now.”

Nick positions himself down on the bed and pulls the sheet over him. He tents it inviting me to snuggle in closer to him. I do. My final thought before I drift off to sleep is to enjoy the closeness for a few more hours because when I leave here I’ll never see Nick again.

Jill is waiting in my office when I arrive twenty minutes after saying goodbye to Nick Ryan. He was an absolute gentleman to part from. He walked down to get coffees and breakfast sandwiches at the nearest Starbucks while I showered away my humiliation.

We sat quietly on the side of the bed and ate our food. When we finished, he gathered all the used wrappers while I got ready.

We remained silent until we were alone in the elevator. Nick turned to face me. “Alexandra, I want to see you again and not for sex. I want to take you out.”

“Oh, Nick, I’m sorry I don’t think I can. Honestly, I was just thinking about how relieved I will feel in five minutes when I’m walking away alone.” I stared at the elevator doors.

“Damn! That hurts!” Nick turned away from me and stared at the doors as well.

I realized what I expressed to him came out all wrong. “Oh God, no! That’s not what I mean. Nick, you have been perfect. It’s me.” I tried to explain further, but he cut me off.

“Really Alexandra? It’s me, not you? Are you really going there?” He called bullshit.

“Nick, this is a mess. I am a mess, and that’s why it’s me. I’m so humiliated that I can’t wait never to have to see you again.” I paused and turned toward him. I gestured with my hands at the space between him and me. “I want to forget this ever happened.”

The elevator stopped at the lobby and the doors opened. Nick waited as I exited first. He walked behind me through the lobby until he forced me to stop when he grabbed my elbow from behind. I swung around and stumbled in to him. He reached for my other arm to help me regain my balance. “Alexandra, I need to see you again. I don’t want you to say no, I want you to think about it for a couple of days and then call me either way to let me know your decision.”

I smiled at him. He is incredibly sexy, and he deserves someone equally sexy. I am not that girl. I’ll give it a couple of days, and then I’ll break the news to him. “Okay. I’ll think about it.”

We exited the hotel and just as I was about to give a quick goodbye, Nick had me in a full on embrace with his lips on mine. So of course, I reciprocated with my tongue. I will miss kissing a man like Nick Ryan. When he finished, I could do nothing but stand there. I couldn’t put two words together, and I didn’t think I could move my legs and I didn’t want to attempt it right away.

Nick smiled and tapped my chin with his index finger. “Have a good day, sweetheart, I’ll talk to you in a couple of days.” I still couldn’t say anything coherent, so I stood and watched as Nick Ryan walked away.

“So how was it?” The first thing Jill asks when I step into my office.

“A disaster.” I walk straight to my desk, drop my bag on the floor, and plop into my chair.

“He couldn’t get hard?” The second question Jill asks.

“No, he got hard multiple times.”

“You farted during your orgasm.” The third question Jill asks.

“What? Is that even possible? Have you farted during an orgasm?” The things Jill comes up with.

“Once or twice.” Jill shrugs her shoulders like it’s no big deal.

“Jill, that’s gross.” I turn facing my desk and drop my head on the pile of papers in front of me. “I didn’t fart, I had multiple orgasms, and he was hard as a rock on command. I’m just a mess.”

“Are you sure because nothing about that sounds like a mess?” Jill scrunches her face.

“At one point during all of this, he described me as awkward.”

“Oh, that’s not good.” Now Jill scrunches her face and shakes her head pitying me.

“There was more to the conversation, but that stung a bit. He was so sweet about it. I don’t think he intended to hurt me, but no girl wants to hear that she’s awkward especially when it’s post-coital.”

“Yeah, no. So I guess you won’t be seeing him again.” Jill’s face is still all scrunched up.

“Yeah, no,” I answer her in a long exhale. “But he still wants to see me. Nick wants to take me out.”

  “Let him.” Jill says.
<
br />   “No. Absolutely not.” I cannot, will not, see that man again.

“Alex, I hate seeing you alone. I hate thinking about you all alone in that big house of yours, can you please give this guy a chance?” Jill rubs the side of my arm in an attempt to comfort me.

“I’ll think about it, but I no longer want to talk about it. Understood?” I say this just to appease Jill.

“Understood.” Jill sags in her chair.

Weeks past and Jill never brought up me calling Nick again. I decide not to call Nick. I don't see the need to tell him I am not interested in pursing anything with him. No phone call from me is a clear message, and luckily, I never gave him my number. I know as time passes, he will be a vague memory.

A last minute meeting, that’s unusual, and after lunch on a Friday right before a holiday weekend, is even more unusual. Obviously, everyone feels the same judging by the clicks of people whispering in the halls. I should call Joe and ask him what’s going on. I hate being caught off guard, especially if it’s bad news, and I find last minute meetings are always bad news.

As soon as Joe answers the phone, I pepper him with questions. Judging by the tone of his voice, he is not the least bit concerned, which eases my fear about the impending meeting. He is not forthcoming with any information, but when he tells me to go to lunch and enjoy, I know everything will be okay.

I step out of my office to find Jill taking part in the office gossip. When she notices me standing near her desk, she leaves the group of girls and walks towards me. “So what have you heard?”

I wait for her to get closer before I answer her. “I just got off the phone with Joe. He told me there is nothing to worry about.”

Jill’s face looks no more relieved by that information. “Sure, maybe you two have nothing to worry about but what about the rest of us?”

I reach for both her hands. “Jill, you know you have nothing to worry about…I’ll make sure of it.” Jill shakes her head knowing it’s the truth. Jill worked for me at my very first job in advertising, and she stayed with me through my entire career. She knows as long as she wants it she has her job with me.
